Buddha Life and Light,
Entrusting in your Great Compassion, May you shed the foolishness
mine
becoming his means of eternal love.
I can be a medicine for the sick,
Nursing their afflictions until they are cured;
I can become food and drink, During time of famine,
I can protect the helpless and the poor, I can become
a lamp for those who need your Light,
I can be a bed for those who need rest,
and appeal to all seekers to the Other Shore.
May all find happiness through my actions,
And let no one suffer because of me.
Whether they love or hate me,
If I hurt or wrong me
we all obtain true entrusting,
The Primal Vow of Other Power,
And make the Pure Land.
